Sunview Group Bhd has proposed the acquisition of a 50 MW solar photovoltaic power generation plant for RGT 70 million, marking another step in its renewable energy expansion. The move is aimed at increasing installed capacity and strengthening the group’s portfolio of income-generating assets. Sunview has been involved in solar project development and construction for several years and has gradually shifted toward owning operating assets. The proposed deal supports its long-term strategy of securing stable revenue while benefiting from Malaysia’s growing focus on utility-scale solar power.

Sunview Group Bhd has announced a proposal to acquire a 50 MW solar photovoltaic power generation plant as part of its ongoing expansion in the renewable energy segment. The group disclosed that the proposed transaction is valued at RGT 70 million and is subject to the fulfilment of standard conditions and regulatory approvals.

The company stated that the acquisition would allow it to strengthen its solar asset portfolio and increase its installed generation capacity. Sunview has been active in engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services for solar projects, while also gradually building ownership of power-generating assets to secure recurring income.

The proposed plant is expected to contribute stable long-term revenue once operational, supported by contracted power offtake arrangements. In recent years, Malaysia has seen a steady rise in utility-scale solar developments, driven by national renewable energy targets and incentives aimed at reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

Sunview has previously undertaken and delivered multiple large-scale solar projects across the country, positioning itself as a mid-sized player in the clean energy space. The group indicated that the proposed acquisition aligns with its strategy to balance project-based earnings with asset ownership, improving cash flow visibility over time.
