Design a self-powered rechargeable cyborg cockroach การสร้างหุ่นยนต์โดยเลียนแบบรูปร่างหรือพฤติกรรมของสัตว์นั้นมีมานานแล้ว แมลงก็เป็นแรงบันดาลใจหนึ่ง การสร้างจักรกลหรือหุ่นยนต์แมลงก็เพื่อใช้ตรวจสอบพื้นที่อันตรายหรือตรวจสอบสภาพแวดล้อม มักใช้การควบคุมจากระยะไกล แต่ก็มีข้อจำกัดคือแบตเตอรี่ของหุ่นยนต์ก็อาจไม่เพียงพอต่อการควบคุมหุ่นยนต์เป็นเวลานาน. เมื่อเร็วๆนี้ ทีมวิจัยนานาชาตินำโดยนักวิทยาศาสตร์จากศูนย์ Cluster for Pioneering Research (CPR) ของสถาบันวิจัยริกะงะกุ หรือริเคน (RIKEN) ในญี่ปุ่น เผยว่าออกแบบสร้าง “แมลงสาบไซบอร์ก” ที่ควบคุมจากระยะไกล โดยติดตั้งโมดูลควบคุมไร้สายขนาดเล็กที่ใช้พลังงานจากแบตเตอรี่แบบชาร์จไฟได้ซึ่งติดอยู่กับแผงพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์ มีลักษณะคล้ายกระเป๋าเป้สะพายหลังแบบพิเศษ อุปกรณ์เหล่านี้จะติดตั้งบนพื้นผิวตัวแมลงสาบ โดยที่แมลงสาบยังสามารถเคลื่อนไหวได้อย่างอิสระ และมั่นใจได้ว่าแบตเตอรี่จะชาร์จพลังงานได้อย่างต่อเนื่อง ไม่ขัดขวางภารกิจที่ต้องคำนึงถึงเวลา หรือกลัวว่าพลังงานจะหมด ทีมได้ทดลองติดโมดูลควบคุมขาแบบไร้สายและแบตเตอรี่ลิเทียมไอออนชนิดโพลิเมอร์ ไว้ที่ส่วนบนของแมลงสาบมาดากัสการ์ที่ลำตัวยาวราว 6 ซม. กระเป๋าเป้พิมพ์ 3 มิติด้วยโพลิเมอร์ยืดหยุ่น สามารถปรับให้เข้ากับพื้นผิวโค้งของแมลงสาบ ได้ดี … Continue reading
