Shakti Pumps (India) Limited, a leading manufacturer of energy-efficient pumps and renewable energy solutions, has announced an investment of INR 30 million in its wholly owned subsidiary to set up a 2.20 GW solar cell and solar module manufacturing plant in the state of Madhya Pradesh. This strategic investment underscores Shakti Pumps’ strong commitment to expanding its renewable energy footprint and supporting India’s vision of achieving energy security through sustainable and clean energy solutions. The proposed manufacturing facility will focus on high-efficiency solar cells and modules, catering to both domestic and international markets.
The new plant is expected to enhance backward integration for Shakti Pumps’ solar-powered pumping solutions while contributing to the development of a robust domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem. Madhya Pradesh was selected for the project due to its supportive industrial policies, strong infrastructure, and growing prominence as a renewable energy hub.
The project is also expected to generate employment opportunities in the region and support ancillary industries, thereby contributing to local economic development. With this investment, Shakti Pumps continues to reinforce its position as a key player in the renewable energy sector, aligning its growth strategy with national priorities such as sustainability, innovation, and self-reliance.
