Solar project boost for Peru's principal power generator – bnamericas.com

Peru’s energy and mines ministry granted Kallpa Generación a temporary easement for the 234MW La Salinas II solar plant in the Moquegua region.
The land rights will allow the country’s top electricity producer to conduct feasibility studies, which, under a temporary concession granted in November 2024 for the project, must be completed within 24 months.
The easement covers 1,136ha, according to ministry information.
Earlier this month, energy and mining investment regulator Osinergmin issued a power grid connection mandate in favor of Kallpa’s 306MW Pacífico wind project.
Inkia Energy controls Kallpa, which last year brought online the 204MW initial phase of the 309MW Sunny photovoltaic plant.
The bulk of the company’s 2,441MW capacity comes from gas-fired and hydro plants.
