Independent web and sheet fed paper supplier Colombier UK has completed the installation of a major roof-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) system at its paper supply facility in Sittingbourne, Kent.
The new solar installation, completed in January 2026, has a total capacity of 264.36 kWp and is expected to generate 262.25 MWh of renewable electricity annually, offsetting approximately 25 percent of the site’s energy consumption and reducing carbon emissions by an estimated 47 tonnes per year.
The decision to invest in on-site renewable energy is driven by growing industry demands for energy security, cost stability and improved environmental performance.
Kevin Dyer, managing director, Colombier UK, said: “This project strengthens our operational resilience, reduces our environmental impact and supports our customers’ ambitions to work with partners who share their sustainability goals. It represents a long-term investment in both our business and the future of our industry.”
