State and federal environmental regulators have launched an investigation into a solar manufacturing facility in South Carolina following two chemical releases, according to a report from pv magazine USA. The plant has been ordered to cease all manufacturing operations.

State regulators issued a directive requiring all manufacturing to stop until a root-cause analysis is completed and an independent engineer certifies the safety of chemical systems. The state’s attorney general has demanded a full accounting of safety protocols.
