According to pv magazine Deutschland, Atmoce has released a product in Germany designed to add emergency power capabilities to existing photovoltaic installations. The backup box works with the company’s own low-voltage battery storage system.
The device operates independently of a solar system’s inverter. In the event of a grid failure, it can transition to emergency operation extremely rapidly, providing nearly seamless three-phase power to an entire building.
The system incorporates load management and grid protection switches for compliant operation. Its charging management can prioritize critical household devices by reducing or turning off other loads, such as electric vehicle charging equipment.
Constructed for outdoor installation, the unit is rated for harsh environmental conditions and requires no fan for cooling. The compatible battery module offers a specific storage capacity and scalable discharge power, with the overall system being expandable to a larger total capacity.
Both the backup box and the battery are presented as compatible with photovoltaic systems using any inverter.
