With Dutch net metering at an end, SolarVault 3 energy solutions land in the Netherlands – NL Times

As the 2027 deadline for the end of the net metering scheme (salderingsregeling) approaches, Dutch households are seeking ways to store their own solar power rather than feeding it back to the grid for diminishing returns. Jackery officially enters the Dutch home energy market on April 9 to answer this demand, with their SolarVault 3 Pro Max and SolarVault 3 Pro Max AC as a solution to an urgent need for energy storage. And for just this month, the company is offering a 300-euro discount on both models.
The timing of the launch is no coincidence. For years, the Netherlands has enjoyed one of the highest rates of residential solar adoption in the world, thanks to a policy that allowed homeowners to deduct the electricity they fed into the grid from their total bill on a one-to-one basis. However, the planned phase-out of this incentive by January 2027 is creating a massive shift in the domestic energy landscape. Without the grid acting as a “free” battery, the economic viability of solar panels now depends on a household’s ability to store and use their own electricity on-site.
The SolarVault 3 Pro Max represents a significant step up in the “plug-and-play” energy sector. While many portable or semi-permanent storage solutions struggle with low solar intake, Jackery’s new flagship can capture up to 4,000 watts of solar electricity input.
This high-speed charging capability is supported by four independent Maximum Power Point Trackers (MPPTs). In the context of the Dutch residential market, where homes often have complex rooflines, dormers, or shading from neighboring buildings, these MPPTs are critical. They allow the system to optimize energy harvest from four different panel arrays simultaneously, ensuring that even if one side of the house is in the shade, the others are still operating at peak efficiency.
Once captured, the system delivers up to 2,500 watts of continuous power to the household. This is sufficient to run heavy-duty appliances, from rapid kettles and washing machines to home office setups, effectively insulating the homeowner from fluctuating grid prices.
For the millions of Dutch residents who already have a rooftop photovoltaic (PV) system, the SolarVault 3 Pro Max AC is perhaps the most relevant addition to the lineup. One of the primary barriers to adding storage to an existing system has traditionally been the cost and complexity of rewiring.
The SolarVault 3 Pro Max AC solves this through AC-coupled solar storage. It is designed to integrate with existing on-grid systems effortlessly.
By simply plugging the unit into a standard wall socket, it can begin to absorb and store the surplus energy generated by the existing panels. It acts as a bridge between the old era of grid-feeding and the new era of energy autonomy, requiring no permanent modifications to the home’s electrical structure.
Once it is powered on, the SolarVault 3 system uses an Intelligent Mode to predict household solar production, consumption, and the battery’s state of charge. It then automatically selects the most cost-efficient working mode, with a goal towards lowering home energy costs.
Beyond the technical specs, Jackery is betting on a “user-first” philosophy to win over the Dutch market. The system is designed to be installed in approximately five minutes using only three cables. Because it requires no drilling or structural changes, it is a viable option for the Netherlands’ significant population of renters and apartment dwellers who were previously locked out of the home battery market.
The hardware is built to withstand the realities of Northern European weather. The units feature IP65 water and dust resistance, allowing for operation in temperatures ranging from –20°C to 55°C. Inside, the system uses lithium iron phosphate battery cells, known for their safety and longevity.
Jackery estimates a 15-year lifespan for the units, backed by a 10-year warranty, and has included a built-in aerosol fire-suppression system for an added layer of internal protection.
As the Dutch market moves toward this “store-to-save” model, the initial cost of entry remains a primary consideration for many families. To mark the April 9 launch, Jackery has introduced a tiered pricing structure that rewards early adopters.
Claim your 300-euro discount by April 30, and don’t wait for the 2027 policy shift to hit your utility bills. The SolarVault 3 Pro Max AC is available for an early-bird price of 969 euros, nearly 25 percent off the regular retail price of 1,269 euros. Similarly, the standard SolarVault 3 Pro Max is priced at 1,089 euros during the promotional period, offering savings of about 22 percent compared to the target price of 1,389 euros.
As the salderingsregeling enters its final years, the transition from being an energy exporter to an energy consumer is becoming the new standard for the Dutch “green” household. The SolarVault 3 series aims to ensure that when the grid stops paying for excess power, homeowners can continue to benefit.
