Waaree Energies Limited, India’s largest solar PV module manufacturer and an integrated renewable energy company, has achieved a key milestone with the inclusion of its solar PV cells under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II for Solar PV Cells.
According to the third revision of ALMM List-II, issued by MNRE on 15 December 2025, Waaree’s solar cell manufacturing facility at Degam, Chikhli, in Navsari district of Gujarat has been approved for a total annual capacity of 5.25 GW. The approval covers 3,923 MW of N-type TOPCon cells and 1,328 MW of P-type PERC bifacial cells, highlighting Waaree’s capabilities in next-generation, high-efficiency cell technologies.The recognition reinforces Waaree’s position as a fully integrated cell-to-module manufacturer and provides greater confidence to developers, EPC contractors, and institutional buyers seeking reliable domestic sourcing aligned with regulatory requirements.
Sunil Rathi, Executive Director at Waaree, said the ALMM List-II inclusion marks an important step in strengthening India’s solar manufacturing value chain through backward integration. He noted that scaling advanced TOPCon and PERC cell technologies domestically reduces reliance on imports while offering project developers greater assurance on quality, continuity of supply, and compliance with policy norms.
The ALMM approval builds on Waaree’s existing presence in ALMM List-I for solar modules and reflects the company’s sustained investments in advanced manufacturing infrastructure. With this milestone, Waaree aims to deepen collaboration with Indian and international developers, expand exports, and support the creation of resilient, high-performance solar supply chains aligned with India’s energy security objectives and long-term net-zero goals.
