Award backing clears path for 300MW solar plant in Mexico – BNamericas

A proposed winner has emerged in Mexican state power company CFE‘s call for the 300MW third stage of the Peñasco Secuencia solar project.
Procurement commissions established by CFE recommended the contract be awarded to the consortium comprised of Eléctrica Aselco, Epic Electric, Grupo Profrezac and Enersave Wire and Cable.
BNamericas previously reported that the group was the sole bidder to advance in the process.
The consortium’s offer totals US$294mn and includes a development window of 24 months.
The contract entails the design, construction and commissioning of the third stage in the northern state of Sonora.
The award recommendation will be sent to the clean energies trust (FIEL), which CFE established in 2021 to finance power generation projects.
