Iberdrola and Selex agree to supply solar energy in 2026 – Inspenet

Iberdrola entered into a renewable energy purchase and sale agreement (PPA) with Selex Gruppo Commerciale to supply with solar energy its extensive distribution network in Italy.
The agreement provides for the supply of 1,250 gigawatt hours (GWh) over ten years, starting in July 2026, which represents about 125 GWh per year from photovoltaic plants plants with an installed capacity of 77 megawatts (MW).
The Selex group, made up of 18 companies and with a presence in more than 3,300 points of sale, will see its sustainability strategy strengthened thanks to this clean energy supply. The initiative has a direct impact on the commercial conglomerate’s energy consumption, enabling it to reduce approximately 37,000 tons of CO₂ annually, a figure equivalent to planting 1.5 million trees.
The long-term contract modality chosen allows Selex to stabilize part of its energy costs, an intelligent decision in view of the volatility of prices in the electricity market. The Italian company has emphasized that the agreement reinforces the synergies between its subsidiaries in the field of energy supply, promoting a more structured and efficient management.
With this new PPA, Iberdrola consolidates its position in Italy, where it has already signed agreements with companies such as BTicino, Bayer and Acciaierie Venete.
