SolarWorld Energy Solutions secures a large domestic solar EPC assignment from NTPC Renewable Energy, reinforcing activity in utility-scale renewables.
SolarWorld Energy Solutions has received a letter of award from NTPC Renewable Energy for a large engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) package linked to a grid-connected solar photovoltaic project. The order, valued at approximately ₹725.33 crore including taxes, covers the development of a 250 MWac solar PV facility and is scheduled for execution within India.
The project is slated for completion during the 2026–27 financial year, in line with the agreed timelines. With this award, SolarWorld adds another large domestic renewable energy project to its EPC portfolio, reflecting steady demand for turnkey solar infrastructure as India continues to scale up clean power capacity.
The contract covers the full spectrum of EPC activities required to deliver the solar PV project. This includes detailed engineering, procurement of equipment and materials, and complete on-site construction and commissioning. As a single-point EPC responsibility, the mandate places SolarWorld in charge of project delivery across all stages, from design to grid connectivity.
Such end-to-end EPC contracts are increasingly central to utility-scale renewable projects, helping developers manage timelines, costs and technical integration while accelerating capacity addition to the grid.
The solar PV project will be executed domestically, aligning with the broader push to strengthen local manufacturing, engineering capabilities and supply chains within India’s renewable energy ecosystem. Completion is planned within the 2026–27 financial year, supporting NTPC Renewable Energy’s ongoing expansion of its renewable portfolio.
Once operational, the 250 MWac installation is expected to contribute meaningfully to grid-scale solar generation, supporting India’s long-term energy transition goals and reducing reliance on conventional power sources.
The order underlines sustained investment momentum in large solar EPC projects, particularly from public sector-backed renewable platforms. For EPC players, such projects signal stable opportunities across engineering, construction and balance-of-plant activities, even as competition intensifies.
