UAE-based renewable energy developer AMEA Power has reached financial close on its 50 MW Bondoukou solar PV project in Ivory Coast.
The $72 million project, located in the Gontougo region, is being financed by Dutch development bank FMO and Germany’s DEG. Construction, which began in 2025, has now moved into full execution, with commissioning expected in early 2027.
“By progressing early work ahead of financial close and now moving into full-scale execution, we are demonstrating our long-term commitment to the country’s clean energy transition,” said Hussain Al Nowais, Chairman, AMEA Power.
Once operational, the plant is expected to generate around 85 GWh of electricity annually – enough to power roughly 358,000 homes – and reduce more than 52,000 tons of CO₂ emissions per year.
