Hundreds of solar panels are to be installed on the roof of a North Yorkshire secondary school after a council confirmed it could proceed.
More than 360 panels will be installed on flat and sloped roofs at Graham School in Scarborough.
Applicants Solar Panels for Schools said the visual appearance of the panels will be "appropriate and positive" for the school buildings.
It applied for authorisation from North Yorkshire Council but it did not need planning permission to proceed, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
A spokesperson for the applicants said: "There will be no impact towards neighbouring and residential land occupiers as there are none in close proximity or can see the proposed installation."
The local authority confirmed that the scheme could go ahead on Thursday.
