Livium advances solar panel recycling with collaboration – Mining.com.au

Livium (ASX:LIT) has completed phase one of its collaboration with Won Kwang S&T with the collection, packing, and shipment of end-of-life solar panels from Australia to South Korea for recycling, in accordance with the non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two companies.
Approximately 600 solar panels are expected to arrive in South Korea on 12 February 2026. Won Kwang will use these panels to validate their technology for large-scale solar panel recycling that has the potential to increase the recoverability of critical minerals.
CEO Simon Linge says that this first shipment represents “an important step toward unlocking critical materials from end-of-life solar panels” using proven technology.
“Livium’s role is to aggregate feedstock and work with specialist partners to share the economic benefits across the value chain,” Linge says.
Silver recovery represents a major economic drive, with Australia’s end-of-life solar panels containing an estimated $110 million worth of silver manually, projected to grow to $165 million by 2030.
The Australian Government’s recent $24.7 million commitment to a National Solar Panel Recycling Pilot further supports the development of a domestic recycling industry.
Livium’s collaboration with Won Kwang is structured in three phases, culminating in a joining venture to build and operate an Australia photovoltaic recycling plant.
Livium is an Australian battery recycler, led by its wholly owned subsidiary, Envirostream, focused on the recovery of materials from end-of-life batteries.
