WARM SPRINGS, Ore. — The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs have received a $1 million grant from the Oregon Department of Energy to install solar panels and battery storage at three reservation sites.
The project will bring renewable energy to Park Place Court Permanent Supportive Housing, 24 single-family homes in the West Hills Affordable Housing neighborhood, and Greeley Heights Community Center. The upgrades aim to lower energy bills, provide reliable power during outages, and strengthen resilience against wildfires and extreme weather.
“This project is an excellent example of how solar and other energy solutions can make a real impact,” said Cathy Ehli, general manager of Warm Springs Power & Water Enterprises. Danielle Wood, executive director of Warm Springs Housing Authority, added the project will improve lives by ensuring consistent power in homes and community spaces.
