Fayette Twp. hires law firm to draft renewable energy ordinance – Hillsdale Daily News

FAYETTE TWP. — Following the resignation of Township Clerk Jessica Bradley on Jan. 13 and the recusal of at least four officials from participating in discussions or votes on an upcoming solar proposal, more than 50 residents attended a meeting of the Fayette Township Board of Trustees on Feb 9 to voice their continuing frustration.
The proposal, Heartwood Solar II, comes from Ranger Power and represents a 140-megawatt expansion of the existing Heartwood Solar on 1,500 acres. Together, the projects reportedly total more than $300 million in planned investment in Hillsdale County — and are expected to generate more than $35 million in tax revenue over their operational lifetimes, according to the company.
