Student solar panels plans submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council – Chester Standard

APPLICANTS are seeking prior approval for more than 350 solar panels on student accommodation in Chester city centre.
Plans for 352 solar panels to be fixed on the Tramways student accommodation in Crewe Street were submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council planners at the beginning of February.
The solar panels will be spread out across five different buildings close to Chester railway station.
An application form, submitted with the proposal, said it came from Roost Prop Co 3 Limited and that it was looking for prior approval.

It said: “Installation of 352 new solar PV panels onto existing pitched roofs of purpose-built student accommodation, spread over five separate buildings.
“Panels to be fixed on the pitched roofs of the buildings, not to exceed the allowable 200mm offset from the roof pitch and not to encroach one-metre from the edge of the roof line.
“We hereby apply for prior approval: Roof mounted solar PV on non-domestic building as described in the questions answered, details provided, and the accompanying plans/drawings and additional information.”
