BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) – Baldwin County commissioners voted this week to hire a private engineering firm to monitor development of a solar farm planned for Stockton.
Jacobs Engineering will oversee the 4,500-acre Silicon Ranch project, reviewing county, state, and Alabama Department of Transportation regulations related to the facility’s permitting requirements.
The firm will also examine Silicon Ranch’s watershed model and assess any possible environmental impacts.
Based on its findings, Jacobs Engineering could recommend public meetings and workshops.
The contract will cost the county approximately $54,000.
