CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Another large scale solar farm development is in the works in Centre County.
Officials say a 908-acre solar facility is now being planned for Snow Shoe and Burnside Townships, near Pine Glen.
County officials say much of the facility is to be built on abandoned strip mine land, similar to another solar farm that is also in the works in that area.
According to the county, MPG Solar is the developer for the newest project.
County officials say the company is hoping to begin construction later this year, with a completion date set for 2028.
