Dearborn Co Approves Solar Moratorium – WRBI Radio

(Lawrenceburg, IN) – Dearborn County Commissioners have approved a one-year moratorium on solar farms.
This comes after the Dearborn County Plan Commission recommended the moratorium after a large crowd attended a public meeting at South Dearborn High School that lasted several hours Monday night.
Applications to build solar farms in Dearborn County cannot be turned in while the moratorium is in place for the next 12 months.
The moratorium also covers battery storage and data centers.
Linea Energy, based in San Francisco, California, planned to develop a solar and battery storage facility on 1,000 acres in the Manchester area.
Anti-solar farm signs sprouted all over Dearborn and in neighboring counties in response to the company’s plans. (pictured).
