Hundreds of solar panels will soon power an Isle of Wight mental health facility.
The Sevenacres unit, based at St Mary's Hospital, will benefit from around 200 panels and battery storage as part of a £495,000 investment in clean energy by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Heather Mitchell, director of population and health equity and trust lead for the delivery of the Green Plan, said: "We are delighted to receive funding to advance our net zero commitment through the installation of solar panels.

"Not only will this save money for the trust which can be reinvested in frontline care, but in creating greener and cleaner environments for our residents, we will do our part in mitigating the impact of climate change on health."
The funding comes as part of a £74 million national scheme to improve energy efficiency across 82 NHS trusts.
The panels will cover 570 square metres at Sevenacres and are expected to generate 148,146 kWh of renewable energy each year.
This is equivalent to powering 50 homes annually, saving the Trust around £26,000 per year and reducing emissions by an estimated 26 tonnes of carbon dioxide.
