KEY 2026: JA Solar unveils advanced TOPCon modules and commercial storage – pv Europe

The Chinese PV manufacturer will present its DeepBlue 5.0 n-type TOPCon modules and the JAPlanet battery energy storage system for commercial applications at the Expo in Rimini from 4 to 6 March.
The new products reflect JA Solar’s broader positioning across PV and storage, giving EPCs, installers and other stakeholders access to high-efficiency modules and scalable energy storage from a single provider.
At the centre of JA Solar’s KEY 2026 showcase is DeepBlue 5.0, the company’s fifth-generation n-type TOPCon technology. The JAM66D50 GB modules deliver up to 670 W in a double-glass bifacial design, making them suited to large commercial and industrial rooftops as well as ground-mounted systems.
For commercial and industrial installations, JA Solar will also present the JAM60D40LB module from its DeepBlue 4.0 Pro range, rated at 510 W in a double-glass bifacial configuration. The module is intended to provide EPCs and installers with flexibility across a broad range of rooftop applications.
DPE confirmed as co-event at KEY 2026
The JAM54D41-LB series is designed for both commercial and industrial and residential installations, featuring high-efficiency n-type bifacial, double-glass, full-black modules with outputs of up to 460 W. The modules are deployed at Signal Iduna Park, the stadium of Borussia Dortmund.
Completing the portfolio, JA Solar will showcase a range of high-efficiency n-type modules for residential installations, available in bifacial and monofacial double-glass designs and delivering outputs in the mid-400 W range.
At KEY 2026, JA Solar will also introduce JAPlanet, a battery energy storage system for commercial and industrial applications. Already deployed at several sites in Italy through its partner Noon srl, the 261 kWh lithium iron phosphate system integrates a 125 kW power conversion system within a compact, modular architecture. JAPlanet can be scaled to 20 units, equivalent to 5.2 MWh, allowing adaptation to a wide range of commercial and industrial use cases.
KEY 2026 – advancing new investment models
JAPlanet achieves 87 percent AC round-trip efficiency, with liquid cooling maintaining cell temperatures within ±1.5 °C to support performance, extend battery life and reduce auxiliary consumption. The system is validated to UL9540A and incorporates thermal runaway detection, millisecond insulation monitoring and a three-tier fire protection system.
The system is backed by a five-year warranty, guaranteeing a minimum state of health of 80 percent or 8,000 cycles. It includes AI-based predictive maintenance and remote diagnostics to support high availability. JAPlanet is designed for peak shaving, demand-side management and time-of-use optimisation. (hcn)
