Downing acquires Higher Witheven Solar project – Business Cornwall

Investment manager Downing has completed the acquisition of the Higher Witheven Solar project, in Launceston.
Higher Witheven has a 42.5 MW capacity, with grid connection and project completion expected in Q4 2027.
Sean Moore, senior investment director at Downing, said: “We’re delighted to be acquiring Higher Witheven Solar.
“The acquisition aligns with Downing’s long-term investment strategy, which focuses on building and managing high-quality renewable energy assets that deliver stable returns while supporting the UK’s transition to a low-carbon energy system.”
Downing has a successful track record in developing, investing and managing renewables, storage and grid support infrastructure. Since 2010, Downing’s Energy & Infrastructure team has made more than 200 investments and has around £920 million of assets under management in the solar, wind, hydro and battery storage sectors with an expected annual energy generation of around 855GWh.
