Perlinger Gemüse is one of the pioneers of the regional energy transition. With a comprehensive rooftop photovoltaic project by Burgenland Energie, the greenhouse operation is sending a clear signal for sustainable business practices, regional responsibility, and a future-oriented energy policy. The photovoltaic system on the roof of Perlinger Gemüse’s production hall comprises over 5,000 modules and generates 2.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. This will enable the company to cover more than 50 percent of its energy requirements itself in the future. This ensures predictable energy costs, greater resilience to market price fluctuations, and significantly enhanced security of supply.

For the company, the PV project is a further strategic development step. “Standing still is going backwards. That has been our company motto for decades. That’s why we decided, together with Burgenland Energie, to build one of the largest rooftop PV systems in Burgenland,” explains founder and shareholder Werner Perlinger.
