Public hearing held in the Town of Morgan amid solar panel project pushback – WBAY

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – A town in Oconto County held a public hearing on Thursday as they push back against plans for a solar panel project.
As we reported, energy resource company NextEra plans for a 1,000- acre solar panel project in the town of Morgan.
Residents have raised concerns over the panels taking up farmland, and the potential of data centers eventually setting up near the large energy supplies.
Citizens who raised their concerns say their voices are not being heard.
“You may check your boxes and move on, but the people who are living with the consequences do not walk away reassured or respected, we walk away dismissed and invisible,” says Jolene Barkhaus.
NextEra personnel who were at the meeting were not able to comment.
