Botswana: Construction starts at Tati PV and three coal-to-power plays advance – African Energy

After a few false starts, construction has begun on one of Botswana’s largest solar PV plants to date, with the local sponsor of the merchant IPP looking to sell into the Southern African Power Pool. The same sponsor is also pushing ahead with three coal plays, which it says include Africa’s first ‘clean coal’ IPPs, writes Tonderayi Mukeredzi.
