Co Down solar energy specialist on track for £15m sales following Cornish acquisition – The Irish News

Co Down solar energy specialist Premier Electrical Group has completed a deal to acquire Natural Generation, a solar energy solutions provider headquartered in Cornwall, creating a combined business with nearly 50 staff.
Based in Ballynahinch, Premier specialises in the design, supply, and installation of solar PV systems, battery storage, EV chargers, and more across the domestic, commercial, and agricultural sectors.
Natural Generation, which has its headquarters in Perranporth, helps homes and businesses in Cornwall, Devon and the South West of England to harness renewable energy with solar panels and battery storage.
Premier has ambitious plans to double its annual turnover to £15 million in the next three years through the expansion of its footprint in Britain and continued growth in Northern Ireland and the Republic.
The business has seen significant growth in the past five years, with demand for its smart, sustainable solar energy solutions and expert advice increasing as more businesses, farmers, schools and home-owners seek to reduce their electricity bills, lower emissions, and take control of their energy.
To manage this growth, Premier Electrical Group is actively recruiting and is currently expanding its office in Ballynahinch to create facilities for up to 10 new staff.
Co-founder and director Thomas Walsh said: “Premier Electrical Group began with the belief that renewable energy should be built on trust, not just technology.
“We saw a gap in the market for honest, expert led solar services that put people first, and in Natural Generation we’ve found a company that shares our values and ethos and gives us huge potential to grow the business further across the UK and Ireland.”
Fellow co-founder Brendan O’Connor added: “Our mission has always been to help customers embrace clean energy with confidence, delivering solutions that are not only better for the planet, but better for their homes, businesses, and communities.
“We’re proud to say we were among the first to bring solar to Northern Ireland, and we’re excited about the prospect of now leading the charge in England as well.”
Colin Gregory, director of Natural Generation said: “We are delighted to become part of the Premier Electrical Group.
“The partnership makes perfect sense for our business and I’m confident that with the additional experience and expertise we can now further enhance the service we provide to customers right across Cornwall and the south west of England.”
