South Africa based Anthem and Reatile Renewables reached financial close for the 475 MW (AC) (620 MW (DC)) Notsi solar project in South Africa’s Free State. The project is currently the largest solar PV development in South Africa and spans over 1,000 hectares. More than 860,000 solar panels will be installed with annual generation of about 1,500,000 MWh. Power will be supplied to commercial and industrial customers through Discovery Green and NOA. Construction is expected to be completed within 26 months following financial close. Standard Bank, Nedbank, ABSA, Vantage GreenX Note III and Third Way Investment Partners financed the project. CEEC-NWEPDI JV was appointed EPC contractor, with Anthem handling long-term operations.
