France – Heliup secures €16m to industrialise lightweight panels – pv Europe

Supernova Invest led the round, with Maif Impact, Lita Gestion and C2AD joining alongside existing investors Starquest Capital and BNP Paribas Développement. The raise also included a crowdfunding campaign.
Targeting the lightweight rooftop segment, Heliup’s Stykon panels weigh five kilograms per square metre, making them suitable for low-load capacity flat roofs on existing commercial buildings. Manufactured in France, the modules achieve around 20% efficiency and are designed to withstand extreme weather.
They combine silicon photovoltaic cells with a proprietary architecture using ultra-thin, durable glass, enabling installation without structural reinforcement. This addresses a key constraint in the European market, where a large share of logistics, industrial and commercial buildings cannot support the weight of conventional PV systems.
French panel maker Heliup takes top solar startup prize
After launching a 10 MW pilot line in 2023 under France 2030, supported by an initial €10 million funding round, Heliup scaled to industrial production in 2025 with a 100 MW facility in Le Cheylas (Isère), backed by the EU Innovation Fund.
The latest funding will support expansion of sales teams across Europe, increased production capacity at the French site and preparation of additional industrial units, alongside continued product development. “This fundraising provides the means to accelerate Heliup’s industrial roll-out across Europe,” said chairman Yannick Veschetti.
