The 500-acre Pastoria Solar Project, which includes some 226,000 solar panels, is the largest renewable energy project contracted to date by the California Department of Water Resources.

Hundreds of energy industry leaders, officials from the California Department of Water Resources, elected officials and labor leaders gathered Thursday at the foot of the Tehachapi Mountains south of Bakersfield to mark the completion of the largest renewable energy project ever contracted by the DWR.
And it’s right here in Kern County.
