Solar PV leads energy demand growth in 2025, IEA – International Tin Association

The International Energy Agency (IEA) has said that solar PV – a major tin use – contributed the largest share of global energy demand growth in 2025, seeing “extraordinary” growth.
In its Global Energy Review 2026 released on 20 April, the IEA said solar PV accounted for electricity generation of 2,653 TWh, or more than 8% of the global total, and representing a 29.2% increase from 2024…
