UK-based independent power producer Enviromena has secured an £825 million financing package to support its one-gigawatt solar photovoltaic portfolio in the United Kingdom. The source for this information is an industry publication reported on 28 April 2026.
The facility is underwritten by several lenders, including BBVA, Intesa Sanpaolo (IMI CIB), Lloyds, NatWest, and Societe Generale. It has been structured as a flexible platform financing, comprising an initial £525 million commitment and £300 million in uncommitted accordion financing.
According to the company, this flexible platform financing will allow it to expand alongside the solar PV portfolio as projects progress from late-stage development through construction and into the operational phase.
Chris Marsh, the chief executive of Enviromena, stated that the transaction represents a landmark for the business and demonstrates strong momentum in its growth strategy. He added that with this support, the company is accelerating the transition from development to delivery, building a gigawatt-scale solar platform to supply homes and businesses and to support the UK’s energy transition.
The financing package comes only a few months after the independent power producer secured two Contracts for Difference with the UK government in the latest Allocation Round, known as AR7. Two solar PV projects supported by those contracts began construction earlier this month. Located in the western county of Shropshire, the projects have a combined capacity of 90 megawatts and are expected to begin installing nearly 125,000 modules in early summer. Both projects are forecast to be energised by the end of 2026.
Enviromena currently manages nearly 400 megawatts of renewable energy assets, with a further three gigawatts under development.
