PRINEVILLE, Ore. — Crook County leaders are considering putting a pause on new solar farms.
Members of the public have raised concerns about the pace and scale of solar development. Key concerns are on the impact on agriculture and wildlife.
The Crook County Board of Commissioners has asked staff to conduct research on the topic. A moratorium would pause applications for all new large-scale solar development.
No formal decision has been made, but staff are in the process of coming up with recommendations.
