Fujiyama Power Systems Approves 1.2 GW TOPCon Solar Cell Facility in Madhya Pradesh – Machine Maker

Fujiyama Power Systems Limited has announced the approval of a new 1.2 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing facility at its Ratlam plant in Madhya Pradesh, marking a major step in the company’s expansion strategy within India’s fast-growing rooftop solar market. The project will involve an estimated investment of Rs. 350 crore and is expected to become operational during the first quarter of FY2028.
The proposed facility will significantly strengthen Fujiyama’s integrated solar manufacturing operations and expand its domestic solar cell production capabilities. The company currently operates a 1 GW Mono PERC solar cell manufacturing plant at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh. With the addition of the Ratlam unit, Fujiyama aims to deepen backward integration across the solar value chain while supporting increasing demand for domestically manufactured solar components.
The investment will be funded through a combination of internal accruals and debt. According to the company, the TOPCon expansion is aligned with its long-term technology upgradation and cost optimisation plans. The new facility is expected to reduce dependence on external sourcing, improve supply-chain reliability and ensure the availability of Domestic Content Requirement (DCR)-compliant solar cells for the company’s expanding rooftop solar business.
The move comes at a time when India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem is witnessing strong policy support. The implementation of ALMM-II for Solar PV Cells from June 1, 2026 is expected to increase demand for locally manufactured DCR solar panels and solar cells, especially under government-backed renewable energy initiatives.
Pawan Kumar Garg, Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Fujiyama Power Systems, said the Ratlam project represents an important milestone in the company’s growth journey and strengthens its ability to serve India’s rooftop solar sector. He noted that the company’s inclusion in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s ALMM-II list positions Fujiyama to meet rising domestic demand for DCR-compliant solar products, particularly under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
Founded over three decades ago, Fujiyama Power Systems has established itself as a leading provider of rooftop solar solutions in India. The company offers a broad portfolio including solar panels, inverters, lithium and tubular batteries, chargers and power-electronics systems. Fujiyama operates manufacturing facilities across Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, while also developing a fully integrated 2 GW Solar Power Generating System expansion at Ratlam.
The company’s distribution and service network includes more than 8,900 channel partners comprising distributors, dealers, service engineers and exclusive retail outlets. With a strong focus on Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets, Fujiyama continues to expand its presence in India’s residential solar segment through integrated manufacturing, extensive after-sales support and domestically produced renewable energy solutions.
