Indian solar developer ACME Solar has finalized a 25-year power purchase agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India for 300MW/1,200MWh of firm and dispatchable renewable energy capacity sourced from solar photovoltaic and energy storage installations. The deal, executed through its subsidiary ACME Renewtech Sixth Private Limited, entails delivering four hours of interstate transmission system-connected assured peak power during non-solar hours under SECI’s FDRE Tranche-VII tender.
The project will use ACME Solar’s existing nighttime grid connectivity at high irradiation sites and is required to achieve a minimum annual availability of 85%. The capacity was allocated under tariff-based competitive bidding guidelines after an e-reverse auction conducted on 2 February 2026. ACME Solar obtained the letter of award for the project in February 2026.
After this signing, ACME reported that its PPA-backed portfolio has grown to 6.57GW out of its total contracted capacity of 8.07GW. In the prior year, ACME’s subsidiary ACME Platinum Urja Pvt Ltd had signed a 25-year PPA with SECI for a 200MW solar PV plant combined with a 100MW/400MWh battery energy storage system, with SECI set to purchase the power under the long-term arrangement.
ACME Solar currently operates 2.99GW of contracted renewable energy capacity, with an additional 5.08GW under construction, including roughly 18GWh of battery energy storage system installations. The company indicated that its operational and under-construction portfolio encompasses solar, wind, storage, FDRE, and hybrid projects.
Earlier this year, Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited issued a letter of award to ACME Solar for developing 220MW of solar-plus-storage capacity in Morena, Madhya Pradesh. That project is slated to start construction in 2026 and achieve commercial operation between 2027 and 2028.
