Solar panel array for farm given the green light – Inverness Courier

Home   News   Article
A Strathglass farm looks set to source some of its power from the sun after plans for a 38-panel solar array were approved.
Applicant Michael King intends to erect the ground-mounted solar array, which will feature two rows of panels, on land 25 metres south-west of Carnoch Farm in Strathglass near Broallan.
The site is flat grassland and is set 25 metres back from the nearby A831 road from Cannich to Beauly.
A supporting statement lodged with the application explains that the location will be “well screened [by] trees” from the road.
Granting approval under delegated powers, Highland Council planning officer Keith GIbson said: “The location is within a field to the southwest of the farmhouse which is screened to view in the immediate area by birch woodland on the northwest, southwest and southeast boundaries.
“It will not be visually intrusive in the landscape and will not have an impact on other properties.”
