Qcells, a global solar technology company headquartered in California, has announced that it began manufacturing solar cells at its factory in Cartersville, Georgia. The factory is anticipated to be fully operational in the third quarter of 2026 and plans on producing 3.3 GW per year of ingots, wafers & cells, and 3.5 GW of modules. The plant’s module assembly line is already operating at full capacity, churning out 16,700 panels per day. When combined with Qcells’ facility in Dalton, the company’s total module capacity in Georgia is projected to reach 8.6 GW per year. This combined output is estimated to support the annual power needs of approximately 1.3 million US homes. Additionally, the expanded operations are expected to employ nearly 4,000 people across Bartow and Whitfield Counties.
