Canadian Solar Inc. has introduced its next-generation TOPCon 3.0 high-power-density photovoltaic module series designed for utility-scale and commercial & industrial (C&I) applications.
The products utilize a multi-cut technology based on large-format rectangular cells and enhanced light utilization, packing higher power density into a standard footprint of 2382 mm × 1134 mm × 30 mm.
The new series achieves a maximum power output of 670 W and a conversion efficiency reaching 24.8%. Cell poly-patterned technology and an optimized back-side configuration boost the bifaciality factor to 90%, which the manufacturer reports will deliver a 0.4% to 0.5% system-level energy gain.
“With the launch of our TOPCon 3.0 module, we continue to advance high-efficiency PV technology, delivering up to 1.6% higher energy yield and up to 1.4% lower LCOE,” said Shawn Qu, Executive Chairman and Chief Technology Officer of Canadian Solar, in a statement. “This translates into stronger lifecycle value and more predictable long-term returns for our global partners.”
Advanced passivation technologies applied to the cell edge and surface drop the temperature coefficient to -0.26%/°C, protecting performance in high-temperature environments.
The modules feature a first-year degradation limit of 1% or less, followed by a maximum annual degradation of 0.35% over the subsequent years. This ensures a guaranteed power output of at least 88.85% after 30 years of operation.
The TOPCon 3.0 portfolio offers custom options including anti-glare glass, IoT-enabled junction boxes, and steel, composite, or anti-dust frames.
The company expects global mass shipments for the TOPCon 3.0 series to begin in August 2026. Find the product datasheet here.
