THE Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) has renewed key airline contracts while expanding into solar cargo exports.
NAHCO announced extensions with Qatar Airways, Saudia Airlines and ASKY Airlines. The aviation handling firm also secured a fresh three-year agreement with FlyGabon.
NAHCO’s Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Olumuyiwa Olumekun, disclosed this in statement in Lagos on Wednesday.
He said the renewed partnerships reflected continued confidence in NAHCO’s service delivery capabilities.
“Leading international and regional airlines continue to place confidence in our operations,” Olumekun said.
Under the new arrangements, Qatar Airways extended its partnership with NAHCO for another three years.
Saudia Airlines also renewed its contract with the company for five years.
ASKY Airlines agreed to continue its relationship with NAHCO for an additional three years.
Olumekun said FlyGabon’s new agreement would run until September 2027.
He said the deal would support FlyGabon’s expanding operations across West, Central and Southern Africa.
The NAHCO chief executive said the agreements strengthened the company’s position within Africa’s aviation services sector.
He added that the latest deals followed several contracts secured earlier this year. Those agreements involved Air France, KLM and Virgin Atlantic.
Others included RwandAir, Sky 7, Pioneer, Avia Green, Benani and the Aviation Clearing House.
NAHCO also announced the start of solar cell exports from Nigeria to the United States.
The company said the exports began through its cargo handling facilities in Lagos.
Olumekun revealed that BGE (Nigeria) Solar FZE started the shipments in January.
He said carriers involved included Lufthansa, Ethiopian Airlines, Turkish Airlines and DHL.
According to him, consignments ranging between 20 and 50 tonnes have been processed.
He said freight forwarding partners included Access Freight and Ideal Royal, attributing NAHCO’s growth to innovation, operational discipline and customer satisfaction.
He noted that technology deployment would continue improving service delivery standards.
“The aviation sector requires increasingly sophisticated solutions to meet customer expectations,” he said.
Olumekun said NAHCO remained committed to safety, reliability and efficiency, adding that the company would continue creating value for clients and shareholders.
The latest developments, he said, reinforced NAHCO’s ambition to diversify beyond ground handling.
He said the company was strengthening its influence in West Africa’s aviation services industry.
The Group Executive Director, Commercial and Business Development, Mr Saheed Lasisi, also praised the achievements.
Lasisi said the renewals and partnerships demonstrated NAHCO’s reputation as a leading provider.
“We are fully prepared to exceed the expectations of these new partners,” he said, adding that NAHCO would rely on more than 47 years of service experience.
The executive said the company would maintain its reputation for operational excellence.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that NAHCO is providing complete cargo handling services for the solar export project.
The services include cargo acceptance, warehousing, export processing and aircraft handling operations. (NAN)
