Renewables Norway, a Norway-based renewable energy industry representative, has highlighted India’s PV sector as a potential export opportunity. CEO Bard Vegar Solhjell said that India could supply PV components to Europe if its manufacturing base expands. He linked that scope to value-chain capacity across rare earth minerals, PV wafers and cells. A Norwegian delegation is visiting India as part of clean energy engagement between the two countries. Its meetings have covered India’s energy transition, PV power paired with battery storage and transmission grid status. Solhjell said that the storage and grid infrastructure remain key challenges as variable power capacity expands. He also cited pumped hydro storage as an area where Norway’s experience could align with India’s needs. The delegation has travelled to Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, including visits to renewable energy projects, solar manufacturing facilities and a major port.
