NHPC inaugurates 300 MW Karnisar PV project in Bikaner – Solarbytes

National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), an India-based renewable energy company, has inaugurated its 300 MW Karnisar Solar Power Plant in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The plant was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently. It has been developed using approximately 7.75 lakh domestically manufactured Solar PV Cells and Modules. The plant is expected to generate around 75 crore units of clean electricity annually and is also expected to offset nearly 6.4 lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year. It has created direct and indirect employment opportunities for over 40 local persons in the region. NHPC CMD Bhupender Gupta thanked the Centre, the Rajasthan government, the Power Ministry, and MNRE for their support in executing the plant.
