Avangrid starts panel installation at Oregon Trail Solar – Solarbytes

Avangrid, a US-based energy company and member of the Iberdrola Group, has startedsolar panel installation at its 57 MW (DC) (41 MW (AC)) Oregon Trail Solar project in Gilliam County, Oregon. The construction is supporting about 200 local union jobs. Upon completion in 2027, the project will be equipped with over 100,000 solar panels that can produce sufficient energy to power up to 10,000 American homes per year. The project has been anticipated by Avangrid to contribute $6 million in payments in lieu of taxes and property taxes altogether. Oregon Trail Solar is located next to the operating Pachwáywit Fields solar project and the planned Shutler Energy Storage project. Avangrid currently operates more than 2.5 GW of energy capacity across Oregon.
