Avaada Electro Ltd, the solar PV manufacturing arm of Avaada Group, has commissioned the first 3 GW phase of its 6 GW high-efficiency n-type TOPCon solar cell manufacturing facility in Butibori, Nagpur, India. The remaining 3 GW capacity is currently under ramp-up.
The facility is part of Avaada’s integrated solar manufacturing complex in Butibori, where the company plans to add 3 GW of ingot and wafer manufacturing capacity.
According to the company, the solar cell production line uses advanced n-type TOPCon technology and can achieve cell efficiencies of up to 25.5% under standard test conditions. The facility incorporates 16-busbar and 18-busbar architectures.
The Nagpur cell facility forms part of Avaada’s broader PV manufacturing expansion strategy. The company currently operates 8.5 GW of n-type TOPCon glass-to-glass module manufacturing capacity across Nagpur and Dadri and plans to add a further 5.1 GW, increasing total module capacity to 13.6 GW.
Avaada is also developing an additional 6 GW solar cell manufacturing line in Greater Noida, which would bring its total solar cell production capacity to 12 GW.
“With the establishment of our 6 GW solar cell factory at Butibori in Nagpur, Avaada is contributing towards India’s green industrial development and technology independence,” said Vineet Mittal, chairman and whole-time director of Avaada Electro Ltd. “This factory represents more than industrial infrastructure; it is a sustainable, co-located complex built on indigenous innovation and environmental responsibility.”
Avaada Group operates across solar manufacturing, renewable energy, green hydrogen and energy storage. Its renewable energy arm, Avaada Energy, has a portfolio exceeding 17.70 GW, including more than 7.20 GW of operational capacity and approximately 10.50 GW under construction.
