BLC Energy wins approval for 39 MW Binn solar farm – Solarbytes

BLC Energy, a Perthshire-based developer of solar PV and co-located battery storage projects, has secured unanimous approval for the Binn Solar and BESS Farm. The project will be built near Strathmiglo and Glenfarg in Perth and Kinross. It will include around 60,000 solar panels with up to 39 MW of generation capacity and an accompanying battery storage system. Annual generation is expected to supply more than 15,400 homes. The project has a grid connection date of 2031, while construction is expected to take around six months. BLC Energy will provide a GBP 19,500 annual community fund throughout the project’s planned 40-year operating period.
