PowerChina, a China-based EPC services provider and renewable energy developer, has completed the Palmyra III solar project transfer in Colombia. The plant was developed under a standardised EPC model with 9.9 MW of AC capacity and 12.56 MW of DC capacity. Operations commenced on March 1, 2024, along with a two-year operation and maintenance programme. The project’s construction, operation, and handover cycle ended on July 12, 2026, with the signing of the final certificate. During this period, the team oversaw equipment reliability, generation efficiency, safety, quality control, and contractual operating obligations. The facility has produced about 40 GWh, sufficient to meet the annual electricity needs of 20,000 local households. Its generation has also avoided approximately 20,000 tons of CO2 emissions. Local technical personnel additionally received practical on-site training.
