Germany deployed approximately 1.28 GW of new PV capacity in June, according to the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur). This compares to 1.29 GW in May and 1.1 GW in June 2025.
The newly installed PV capacity for the first six months of this year reached 7.39 GW, up slightly down around 8 GW in the same period a year earlier.
The country’s cumulative installed solar power, meanwhile, has reached 125.2 GW at the end of June.
A detailed analysis for June shows little change compared with previous months, with capacity additions in April and May also remaining at around 1.3 GW. Ground-mounted systems once again accounted for the largest share of new capacity, contributing 572.7 MW.
For rooftop systems, the Market Master Data Register recorded just under 32,400 new installations in June, with a combined capacity of 493.8 MW. While this figure remains below the levels seen since March, it could still increase significantly due to late registrations.
The Bundesnetzagentur also reported a decline in registrations of plug-in solar devices in June. In total, nearly 37,000 new plug-in PV systems with a combined capacity of 51.7 MW were added. This brings the gross total of new rooftop installations registered in the first half of the year to more than 185,000 systems, with a combined capacity of 3,186.4 MW.
For ground-mounted systems, the grid operator recorded 1,002 new installations totaling 4,010.4 MW.
