David Tusubira (Co-founder, Innovex) on how better monitoring can make renewable energy systems more reliable and sustainable
David Sunday Tusubira is a Ugandan engineer and entrepreneur whose work focuses on one area of renewable energy’s biggest oversights: solar system post-installation maintenance.
To this end, he co-founded Innovex, which has since developed Remot, a hardware-and-software platform that enables solar providers to remotely monitor the performance, health, and usage of off-grid energy systems.
On the surface, the idea is simple, but building it has proven to be the defining mission of his life. By helping operators detect faults, monitor battery health, and identify inefficiencies before they lead to failures, the technology aims to improve reliability and extend the lifespan of critical infrastructure.
