Aligned Climate Capital, a US-based asset manager, has acquired the 7.3 MW DC Armoracia community solar project. The Collinsville Township project is under construction across 16 acres and will use Planted Solar’s platform. Armoracia will serve subscribers through the Illinois Adjustable Block Program on the Ameren Illinois grid. The project is expected to begin commercial operation later in 2026 after construction is completed. Planted Solar’s system combines software, terrain-following arrays and field automation without requiring site grading. The design leaves space for agricultural activities, pollinator habitat and other compatible uses around arrays. Aligned completed the acquisition through its Aligned Solar Partners strategy for distributed solar assets. The transaction establishes a financing structure for Planted Solar projects operating at commercial scale.
