Shanxi Installation secures Oman 500 MW PV contract – Solarbytes

Shanxi Installation Group, a China-based industrial engineering company, has secured an Oman PV EPC contract. The RMB 1.5 billion (~ $225 million) agreement covers the 500 MW Al Kamil Phase I project. Signed on July 14, 2026, the contract represents the group’s first major Middle East project. EDF PS is developing the plant in Oman’s Al Kamil Wafi region. The EPC scope includes design, manufacturing, procurement, supply, testing, transportation, installation and construction activities. Shanxi Installation will also connect the plant to high-voltage substations and complete commissioning work. The agreement further includes two and a half years of operation and maintenance services. The site is approximately 230 km from Muscat International Airport and 440 km from Sohar Port.
